This weekend, I was watching an online talk by a well-known psychoanalyst who lives in France. His talk was on the psychoanalytic theories of sex, and he crossed into politics occasionally. The way most of the world removes anomalies in order to maintain dichotomies (necessary for patriarchal privilege to work well) is to literally murder, coerce into silence, incarcerate, or--in our case--define out of existence. The president by fiat symbolically murdered U.S. citizens, which surprised him because the U.S. has always been the leader in deconstructing gender. He said the volume on gender should be "turned up" not down.

Even in your dark prose, you manage to offer hope, and I'm grateful. Maybe it's because you KEEP writing no matter what. My trans son is living his best life despite this world's current bullshit--so far. I worry about him, and even more for other young people without family support.
