She Tells Me She’s Bisexual

A final farewell to my ex-girlfriend

--

When We Were Together

She tells me she didn’t expect a woman to be so passionate.
I tell her there’s nothing gentle about a woman.

She tells me she doesn’t share my compulsion.
I tell her she’s used to performing.

She tells me she’s never done this.
I tell her she has nothing to prove.

She tells me love is tender.
I tell her love is angry.

She tells me I worship the wrong god.
I tell her she is benediction.

When We Met Again

She tells me I threw away all of her because I couldn’t have one piece.
I tell her she was my lover not my friend.

She tells me I was cruel.
I tell her a flame burns as easily as it warms.

She tells me she has two male lovers.
I tell her she won’t want them as friends.
