I live in Iowa where we complain about the humid summer and frigid winters and retire to AZ.
A few years ago we flew down to AZ in August because we bought my dream Jeep Wrangler (yellow and black like my Iowa Hawkeyes) from a dealership and drove 1500 miles back home in a car that is more go-cart than road warrior (I love my jeep). But that's not the unbelievable thing.
While we were in AZ the temp hit 118. Yeah, kinda high, they said, because it was usually more like 100, they said, and pish 100 is nothing, they said. I mean, it's a dry heat, right? OMFG when I stepped out from the shade of a building, I could not stand it. I have never felt that before. We get 100s here but it is a very different sun.
I'll take the humidity where even the shade makes you feel like you're sitting in hot soup and embrace the winters where I can't move my mouth because it's frozen, but I can't see living in a place knowing that every summer I will be set on fire.
Stay cool, Dani ;-)
